SeeRead ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension.
Google API Services User Data Policy
SeeRead's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy
Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Email address: Collected via Google OAuth for account identification and communication.
- Content URLs: The URLs of articles or podcasts you choose to transform into infographics.
- Audio files: Podcast audio you upload for transcription (temporarily stored, deleted after processing).
- Generated images: The infographics created from your content, stored in your library.
- Branding assets: Custom logos you upload for branded infographics.
- Referral data: Your referral code and who referred you (if applicable).
- Payment information: Processed securely through Stripe; we do not store your payment card details.
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and maintain your account.
- To generate infographics from articles and podcasts you submit.
- To transcribe podcast audio into text.
- To store your generated images in your personal library.
- To apply your branding preferences to generated content.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To track referrals and award bonus credits.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL database and cloud storage). Generated images are stored with signed URLs that expire after 30 days, after which they can be refreshed from your library.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties, except:
- Stripe: For secure payment and subscription processing.
- Supabase: For data storage and authentication.
- Image generation API: Content is sent to generate infographics.
- Transcription service: Audio is sent for speech-to-text processing.
When you share an infographic via a public link, that image becomes publicly accessible to anyone with the link.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data associated with your account.
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Export: Download your generated images from the library.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove all your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Google OAuth, and row-level security policies on our database.
Children's Privacy
SeeRead is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
