Quick Fixes to Try First

  • Refresh the page and try again
  • Make sure the page has fully loaded before clicking SeeRead
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try disabling other extensions temporarily
  • Update to the latest version of SeeRead

Content Extraction Issues

"No content found" on a webpage

Solution

This happens when pages load content dynamically with JavaScript or have anti-scraping protection. Wait for the page to fully load, then try again. If it still doesn't work, select the text manually, copy it, and paste into SeeRead's text input mode.

YouTube video not working

Solution

SeeRead requires videos to have captions. Check if the video has a CC button - if not, captions aren't available and SeeRead can't extract content. Try a different video that has captions enabled.

PDF not being read correctly

Solution

Password-protected or image-only PDFs (scanned documents without OCR) won't work. Remove password protection first, or use OCR software to add a text layer. For very large PDFs (100+ pages), try extracting just the relevant sections.

Generation Issues

Generation taking too long (60+ seconds)

Solution

Long content (50+ page PDFs, 2+ hour videos) takes longer to process. If it's been over 90 seconds, refresh and try again. Check your internet connection - slow connections can cause timeouts.

"Generation limit reached"

Solution

Free users get 3 generations per day, resetting at midnight UTC. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited generations, or wait for your daily limit to reset.

Infographic doesn't match my expectations

Solution

Try a different lens type to focus on different aspects. "Key Insights" gives broad summaries, while "Timeline" or "Step-by-Step" are more specific. You can also regenerate - AI outputs vary slightly each time.

Extension Issues

Extension icon is grayed out

Solution

SeeRead can't run on browser internal pages (chrome://, edge://), the Chrome Web Store, or some protected pages. Navigate to a regular webpage to use SeeRead.

"Extension context invalidated" error

Solution

This occurs when the extension was updated while you had it open. Refresh the page and try again. If it persists, go to chrome://extensions, disable SeeRead, wait 5 seconds, and re-enable it.

Extension not appearing in toolbar

Solution

Click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions) in Chrome's toolbar, find SeeRead, and click the pin icon to keep it visible. If SeeRead isn't listed, reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store.

Account & Billing Issues

Pro subscription not recognized

Solution

Sign out and sign back in to refresh your subscription status. Make sure you're signed in with the same account you used to purchase Pro. If the issue persists, contact support with your purchase receipt.

Can't sign in with Google/Apple

Solution

Disable any popup blockers for seeread.app. Make sure cookies are enabled for third-party sign-in. Try using an incognito window to rule out conflicting extensions.
